Hi,
do you have a very simple (and small) source PDF file with which you
can reproduce the issue, please? I guess the page if left in some
state, maybe with applied transformation matrix, which causes the
vertical flip of the newly added text. As the original helloworld.pdf
doesn't do any such transformations, the added text looks properly.
There can be other aspects involved, this is only one I could think of
right now.
