Hello PoDoFo developers/users,
I would like to inform you that an experimental PoDoFo conversion of
the subversion repository has been pushed to the official PoDoFo
github registry:
https://github.com/podofo/podofo
The conversion has been performed using the svn2git[1] tool using the
following commands:
mkdir podofo
cd podofo
svn2git https://svn.code.sf.net/p/podofo/code/podofo --authors
../podofo-authors-transform.txt
The full result of this operation has been first pushed to the
podofo-svnold[2] reference repository that has been archived
(=read-only), while the main podofo repository is is basically the
same as the reference repository with the old branches purged. The
authors transform input file matching SourceForge users to real names
+ emails is attached. Please, let us know soon if there were
macroscopic mistakes in the conversion. If you want your contributions
to be linked to your identity in github, create a github account if
you don't have one and set the address that were used in
transformation input file as your main address or as an additional
one[3].
At the present time, the PoDoFo git conversion is to be considered
experimental and will act as a mirror of the Subversion repository (if
the are more commits in svn I will push them preserving the SF
username transform). Dominik will take the next steps towards the
0.9.8 release with regard to repository handling: it's up to him to
decide when closing the SourceForge subversion repository, but before
that happens don't create pull-requests as we can't have two
repositories running for the same project. IMHO, the earlier
Subversion access is closed the better, but we need some feedback on
the conversion first.
A copy of this email has been sent to all the SourceForce committers,
including the very first contributors. I hope this will be a good
news, especially if you haven't been in touch with the PoDoFo
community for a long time!
