Hi,
check out tools/podofosign/, there is read a certificate from a file,
in a PEM format. There are similar functions for other formats,
including a DER format, in OpenSSL.
In any case, this list is for PoDoFo, not for OpenSSL. You get better
ask in their forum/mailing list/..., or try Google or DuckDuckGo or
similar web search tools to find an answer.
