What are you using to measure the memory usage?
We have found GTop to be most reliable.
use GTop;
my $mem = GTop->new->proc_mem($$)->size;
I cannot see anything in the code, but you may want to turn on
"options => { trace => 1}" in the sessions to see how often things are
being called.
