It is a cocoon app running on tomcat.
As db I use a MSAccess97 DB - but that can be any other DB.
Like I stated before I am working in a marketing department. My job is to program DBs for call agents.
They have to support the following:
- telemarketing (e.g. special offers)
- customer care (e.g. feedback for different products)
- customer verification
...
As a call agent you have to do the following:
1) contact an Address
2) verify this Address
3) verify (1 to n) contact persons
4) get feedback of the [Address|contact persons]
5) assign a workflow to the [Address|contact persons]
The main focus of the Enterprise Reporting System is that workflow [5]:
* Daily serial letters and reports must be sent away (depending on the workflow).
They are based on the [Address|contact persons]. They must be linked with existing volume of data (feedback [4], [3],[2]) and evaluated according to certain criteria (workflow [5]).
* The reports and serial letters are delivered in different formats (excel, pdf, paper) and on different ways (@mail, post office).
The resulting evaluations again serve as bases for the publication into most diverse channels. Depending upon target group (final customer, indoor service, management et cetera) and need the publication takes place in most different formats (excel, pdf).

Sure. I'll contact you in a few days. We're going to do some more development before we go public; however, you're welcome to contribute to the early stages. I'm working on getting the developer's site up. We obviously don't want to release the initial codebase until we're ready support real users.

Hello Andrew, Andrew C. Oliver wrote:Hi all, This is primarily an HSSF concern<snip />I'll be launching a new project called Enterprise Reporting System (for lack of a snappy name) soon.

I am working in the telephone marketing department of a company.
I am programming databases for call agents. Now I started to develope something similar to your above mentioned Enterprise Reporting System (ERS).
Till now my ERS does this:
1) Connect to a db
2) transform DB2XML
3a) transform XML2PDF
3b) transform XML2HTML
So as soon as you launch the new project let me know I am keen to help!
