I may often misunderstand what you want to say,so I confirm it. The task "refine APIs and add convenience function to it"will do after v3.0,and you let it as "cold sleep" until the time you should work.
And if there are things that I can and should do about it NOW, it is; Document what is the problem,and how to avoid it,and explain the usage how to use contrib module HSSFCellUtil like FAQ style etc(written by stylish ENGLISH! can I do it???X( )for current users,and contribute the documentation.
