Do me this: dir the directory with the jars echo %classpath%
put that in an email. This so looks like a classpath problem. Regardless, its certainly not a problem with POI or HSSF, one how or another you're not loading the jars. Perhaps Glen or Ken have some Windows advice. Please do not email me directly for POI issues, I read ALL of the mails that go to the list, but I'm not qualified to answer every question.
