Couple of points here:

1. There ARE entries for empty cells (no values) that have some formatting
associated with them.

2. Also, some functions that return index of cells in row return number+1 -
this is apparently what the Excel spec dictates (I previously reported it as
a bug and it was rejected for that reason).
