Couple of points here: 1. There ARE entries for empty cells (no values) that have some formatting associated with them.
2. Also, some functions that return index of cells in row return number+1 - this is apparently what the Excel spec dictates (I previously reported it as a bug and it was rejected for that reason). -DAB > -----Original Message----- > From: Avik Sengupta [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, March 24, 2004 6:03 AM > To: POI Users List > Subject: Re: AW: phantom cells? > > > Lord Tennyson wrote this 1854, but it applies to working with Excel as > well ;) > > Theirs not to make reply, > Theirs not to reason why, > ...... > > But seriously, there are entries for many empty cells in an > Excel file. > Dont ask why, but history of operations could be one reason. > So you cant > depend on the index of a record in the file.. you can only go > by the row > and col numbers inside the record. > > > On Wed, 2004-03-24 at 16:27, Karl-Heinz Zengerle wrote: > > Hi world. > > > > In a row containing 12 elements getLastCellNum() returns 12 > also I'ld > > expect 11 (because of being 0-based).
