Hi Frans, Bad etiquette, for which I apologize. I am using JExcel's Cell.getContents() method currently, but as I mentioned JExcel doesn't have HSSF's performance.
Thanks, rc IMPORTANT: E-mails from this company normally contain confidential material for the sole use of the intended recipient. It seems that using HSSFCell.getNumericCellValue should work: it returns a double that you can format any way you want using an appropriate java.text.NumberFormat object. What are you doing now? Some code examples would be more effective than simply reposting your e-mail (which is considered bad etiquette - http://jakarta.apache.org/site/mail.html & http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html).
