Actually, I've been finally able to build it.
Enum has been a keywork only since Java release 1.5.
I just had to build it under the Java 1.4 JDK. But it's can't be used as a
library until your application is writte in Java 1.4.

The java part has not been built in a very long time. However, the
poker-eval API has been stable for years now and there should not be
any surprises.
Someone with previous java experience should answer your
question. Johan Euphrosine <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, the author of the C#
binding, has knowledge of java too. As soon as his mail gets better
he'll be able to answer. You can also find him on
