I don't really know why I have to add the link flag. Maybe its because I don't regenerate configure properly after changing ccpython.m4 The thing you suggested of running autoreconf -fi doesn' work on my system, it generates errors:
$ autoreconf -fi /usr/bin/autoreconf: /usr/bin/autoreconf-2.61: /usr/bin/perl: bad interpreter: No such file or directory /usr/bin/autoreconf: line 159: /usr/bin/autoreconf-2.61: No error I'll try to fix these errors , and then try again configure and make to see if it works without having to hack manually.
