Hi,
The pokersource.eu service is born today. It weights ~300KB of
tiddlywiki and has a logo. Its purpose is to be a world writable poker
room where anyone can play poker for fun and hack the underlying
software.
Although poker-network is known to be able to serve 4,000
simultaneous players with very little resources
(http://pokersource.info/stress-test/2007-08/), the pokersource.eu
poker room will always be limited to a maximum of 500 simultaneous
players. The most compeling reason is that even the most talented
room manager can't personaly watch over a thousand players: 500
is probably the best he can do.
The pokersource.eu poker room will never provide real money
tables. The only poker chips allowed at the tables are those obeying
the currency protocol implemented by poker-network. There will be
no interface for credit cards.
All the software and the graphics used at http://pokersource.eu/
are and will be Free Software.
pokersource.eu contains very little data and everyone is
invited to grow it. It is a wiki open to everyone at
http://pokersource.eu/index.html#mode:Admin
It also is a world writable DAV directory at
http://pokersource.eu/
All the content is versioned with mercurial, there is little
chance to lose any data. If you want a root access to the machine, send
your public ssh key to [email protected] and someone will open
the door for you.
There is not even a poker server installed at the moment.
I plan to take care of pokersource.eu during six years before I
reconsider my position. I'm looking forward to spend these years in
your company.
