Hello all, I am having a problem with the Poker Network Server that I hope someone here can help me with.
I currently have the software running on my home Fedora server. I have asked several people during the last two months to help me test the server from the internet. The Poker2d and Poker3d Linux clients are working great. However, of the five people that tried to connect with the Windows Poker3d client, all of them reported experiencing the same problem. After editing the poker.client.xml with the address of my server, they can all connect and log-in. They can also browse the lobby, create accounts, cash-in and change outfits etc. However, no one can join a table. The problem starts after they select a table to play on, the POK3D splash screen shows up and then freezes on Loading Players. If the "esc" key is depressed the splash screen will disappear and go back to the lobby. Then, when a table is again chosen i.e. by double clicking table one in the list, the poker table will appear but will not show any player or bot avatars and you also can't choose a seat to sit down. One can also manipulate the table view by click and drag with the mouse. Normally there are two bots sitting at table one and with the Linux clients you can play against them and others. One can exit the poker room normally to the lobby by clicking the door. I have personally duplicated these events and have, I believe, ruled out a Windows Poker3d Client problem. I'm ruling it out because when I modify the poker.client.xml to point to other poker network servers i.e. Pok3d.com and another independent poker network server, everything works as expected and I don't experience the above problems. So it leaves me to believe that the problem is with my own server configuration. Is there a configuration option that will fix the windows client access problem? Or perhaps a file that needs to be updated such as xwnc. I am so close to having a fully functional poker server and having the windows client issue resolved would significantly increase (at least x 10) my potential player base. I would GREATLY appreciate any help on this issue. Thank you all. _______________________________________________ Pokersource-users mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/pokersource-users
