Hi,

There are a number of projects, software, content, companies, people,
rooms, ideas, bug trackers ... associated with pokersource. But it's
scattered on the net. It would help me (an others, I suppose ;-) to
make them more visible. I've not felt this need until now because I'm
familiar with most of it and digging the relevant information does not
take me too long. But I've been embarassed more than once when people
ask me where they can read about pokersource, its history and its
roadmap.

Unless someone has a better idea, I will replace the current
pokersource.info page with a wiki by the end of the week (mediawiki ?
tiddlywiki ? trac ?). I will then start to add links and descriptions
to the various parts (jspoker, gna, odds, outflop, packages, pok.me,
debian, fedora, chat etc.) The idea is to create a reference catalog
of pokersource related information.

Organizing the resources is more complicated than making an
inventory. I have a developer state of mind and I will therefore
organize accordingly: http://pokersource.info/ in its current state is
probably all I need. But a non technical person interested to get
professional help to setup a poker room would prefer a more user
friendly view with only high level information and no technical
details as in http://outflop.me/. And a developer who tries to figure
out how to contribute would want to browse
https://gna.org/bugs/?group=pokersource or
http://jspoker.pokersource.info/ideas.html and chat on
irc.freenode.net#about the best way to get started.

Also, everyone interested in pokersource need a live example of how it
works. I want to be able to sit at a table with someone as in
http://pokersource.eu/, watch the pok.me 3D feed at
http://stream.pok.me/stream.ogg or calculate odds at
http://odds.aminche.com/ . But when I'm there, I should be able to
chat with the developers or post comments if I feel like it. That's
useful if I'm a simple user. But also as a developer, when I've
completed all the tests on the code I just wrote and integrated with
other developers code. I will then try to figure out if my diff
actually works as expected.

In a nutshell, what I would like to assemble is a catalog of
pokersource resources, organized in various ways with live demos to
experience them.

Because all of pokersource is Free Software, it can be copied /
forked, to comment or implement new ideas. Once a visitor understands
he is allowed to change what he sees, he should be able to find
directions explaining how it can be done. Although the abstract
process is simple to explain : copy the software/content, modify it,
talk someone else into merging; the details may vary greatly. Editing
a wiki article is quite different from cloning a mercurial repository.
And fixing a spelling mistake involves skills that are only remotely
related to fixing a lintian report from a debian package.

I'd be happy to discuss about this while I'm working on the inventory
of the pokersource resources.

Cheers
