I've had this thought in the back of my head for a while, but don't have the knowledge to pull it off. I have several spamtrap addresses on two different domains I host here. Generally these are just seeded from hidden email links on web pages, and for the most part these do block a fair number of spams that may have made it through otherwise. But spammers have scale on their side, therefore I need a larger spamtrap list.
Rather than trying to get more hits to my spamtraps, it obviously makes more sense to figure out some way to tie other spamtraps together, and create an RBL based on the blacklists created by these. It would seem that it should be possible to extend policyd to include a way to update a central database, possibly in real time, with hits which could then feed an RBL system.
