This is off-topic, and ICBW but... the problem Matthew has with his mail being refused may be caused by a blacklist on the domain part of his email add. I know my filters would auto-trash if not delete mail coming from an address at "cashdollar.org" and many similar bad looking domain names. Just thought I would bring this to your attention, in case you have kept in touch with your correspondant and would care to fwd this hint to him.
