Squid Cache has a nice feature called storeurl which allows the cache to
store a url at a different url than it is fetched from, an example is a
web site that has 5 content servers, lets say cdn[1-5].site.com, that
all serve the same data, for example cdn1.site.com/image.jpg is the same
as cdn2.site.com/image.jpg

Youtube effectively does something similar with its videos, making
caching of rather large, heavily cachable objects quite difficult.
Storeurl allows you to change cdn1.site.com/image.jpg to say
cdn.site.com.INTERNAL/image.jpg when stored in the cache, and subsequent
lookups will check for that cache entry also to fetch it.

Does polipo have a similar feature, or looking to implement it?

On a slightly related note, is there a way to force ignoring of no-cache
headers, or expire time, sent by the server? This also violates the
HTTP/1.1 spec, but is quite useful for some special cases.
