I went and cat a random file in the www.google.com folder in there (it turns out the Eve Online website as well as DeviantArt have similar issues to this, so those would apply too), and the headers look as such:
polipo # cat ./www.google.com/JzXYvUDGAI1J41jTaa2BLg== HTTP/1.1 200 OK Content-Length: 497 Date: Wed, 20 Oct 2010 16:48:10 GMT Expires: Wed, 20 Oct 2010 16:48:10 GMT Cache-Control: private Content-Type: text/javascript; charset=UTF-8 X-Reader-Google-Version: 519-000 X-Reader-User: 02167973585593720059 X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN X-XSS-Protection: 1; mode=block Server: GSE X-Polipo-Location: http://www.google.com/reader/api/0/stream/contents/user/02167973585593720059/state/com.google/reading-list?ot=1285001291&r=d&xt=user%2F02167973585593720059%2Fstate%2Fcom.google%2Fread&n=8&ck=1287593290635&client=module X-Polipo-Access: Wed, 20 Oct 2010 16:48:10 GMT Ming's post was rather helpful, a grep for "Cache-Control: private" shows hits in all the folders for websites that seem to have this issue. (I have no idea whether other websites that don't fall under this category would have this problem as well, though.)
