Who knows for sure at this point what's true amidst all the gossip. Certainly his Christian fundamentalist base wouldn't be pleased.
One thing I noticed right away: the fantasy penchant for costumes and uniforms, like a boy play acting. I recall an early meeting with Tony Blair in the U.S., before 9/11, when he emerged for the cameras in a spiffy bomber jacket. That's when I began to get intimations that the United States was in serious trouble and that Bush was unmoored from reality. This was the same guy who later announced Mission Accomplished in that Top Gun Hollywood outfit with the Spinal Tap extra padding.
Neocons have fed his propensity for heroic fantasizing with scenarios in which he plays the role of steadfast Abraham Lincoln and Winston
Churchill combined.
When all the facts eventually come out, we are going to realize that we have just lived through the most bizarre and truly weird presidency of all time. It would be funny, if it weren't so destructive and expensive.

I did a double take on this one:Sean McBride wrote:http://www.antiwar.com/blog/index.php?id=P2675
Excerpt from an interview with GW Bush by Fox Anchorman Brit Hume:HUME: How do you get your news?
BUSH: I get briefed by Andy Card and Condi in the morning. They come in and tell me. In all due respect, you've got a beautiful face and everything. Now that last interjection about Hume's "beautiful face and everything" really threw me so I did some surfing and found that GWB definitely possesses a keen admiration of masculine beauty. Strange days indeed are upon us! At least we'll have some hilarious moments as we slide down the tubes.Queer Like W, by Eric NaingTim Howells
