The Twisted Reality of what Republicans call the 'Truth' Example: The Bridge to No Where
September 09, 2008 Sean Lewis It is now known that Palin Campaigned on securing financing to the Bridge to No Where. This is the Truth. Republicans however have a different spin of the Truth. It goes like this Palin was against the Bridge. How do they get here? Good question. Well let's see if we can travel this twisted road and find the Republican ideal of what truth is. Palin Campaigned on the need for the Bridge. Then after Palin became Governor, Palin lobbied for Federal Funds for the Bridge and was granted this ear-mark funding. That Palin only 'stopped' the Bridge to No Where after it was clear that the Bridge and become an example of Government waste and the funding would be discontinued. It was then that Palin 'stopped' the project, but Palin then KEPT the federal money for the project and folded the money into the Alaskan Budget. Nice way of helping to balancing the Budget also by the way. not that she needed the money after raising taxes on the Alaskan Oil Industry, but that is ANOTHER Truth to be dealt with. (taking money for corporations and giving it to Alaskans in a $1200 check. No wonder she had an 80% approval rating) So to recap, Palin Campaigned, Lobbied and supported the Bridge until she was against it. However Republicans say the 'Truth' is, Palin was against the Bridge and shut it down. Is this the type of Truth Americans want? This is not how I was taught to believe the truth. The Truth doesn't have caveats, footnotes and addendums.
