He has done it to me as well. I see nothing inherently wrong with pointing it out. He took no moderator action and didn't ask you to remove it, so there's really not an issue here. The only time it would be an issue is if multiple threads on the exact same topic were started by the same author in an attempt to disrupt the board and/or suppress other conversations.
