Charges may well have changed since this article was written. 8 or 5
what does it matter. The object of the exercise was crush all
political dissent during the RNC, so the stage managed American Idol
floor show, that passes as a political convention, could be conducted
in a political vacuum, a it was unrepresentative of the will of the
American people. I suppose arresting the media falls within your
standards of democratic free speech as well you seem to have
conveniently overlooked that point as do most conservatives do, and
cherry pick bits and pieces while leaving out more damning evidence
and the essence of what is at stake. You can't do much better than
speaking to one of their lawyers who is also a member of National
lawyers guild, who clearly points out the spurious illegality of ANY
charges being leveled at all. And let's conveniently forget the agent
provocateurs employed by the police state. You should at least
somewhere repudiate the curtailing of a constitutional right, yet you
display your outright hostility in entertaining any such thought. Is
your practice affiliated with that of justice Scalia's in any way?

BTW. Amy Goodman is not a socialist and Democracy now is a cheer-
leading rag for the Democrats, but then again you are confused about
much. Your continual defense of a religious zealot says a lot about
your dogmatic lack of objectivity, and that she sees the work in Iraq
as some kind of holy-war. She is a very sick individual. A pig
wouldn't deign to kiss her, lipstick or not.

Bruce Nestor, president of the Minnesota chapter of the National
Lawyers Guild and attorney for Monica Bicking, one of the eight
defendants, told the World Socialist Web Site that the authorities
have shown no indication that the charges will be dropped.

The charges are predicated on an a priori assumption of guilt; not on
what actually happened, but what might have happened had no arrest
been made.

Furthermore, the charges are almost entirely based upon the evidence
of two confidential paid informants.

Nestor pointed out in an earlier interview with the Minnesota
Independent that “the most outrageous allegations made by the
authorities are not supported by any evidence other than the statement
of the confidential informants. They’re not supported by the evidence
seized.”
