Foreign policy was supposed to be McCain's strong suit. Obama more
than held his own and dominated about half the time.

Obama showed his mastery of all subjects concerning foreign policy. He
demonstrated completely his understanding of the interconnectedness of
our world and how he would restore the respect and admiration of the
whole sane world for America. He clearly delineated why the Iraq war
was a strategic mistake for America and how the unnecessary war
detracted from the war against al Qaeda and siphoned off our blood and
treasure which could have been put to much better use.

McCain made Obama's point precisely when McCain said the next
president wouldn't be deciding whether or not to invade Iraq, tacitly
conceding the point to Obama that Obama was correct in having the good
judgment to oppose the Iraq War before the invasion. Obama's skillful
command of foreign policy reinforced the unsaid by either candidate,
but not unnoticed by the electorate, that Obama has the intelligence,
skill and temperament to decide which future wars will be brought
before the Congress to declare.

What little respect I had for John McCain has been completely erased
in the last few days. McCain's rush to suspend his campaign and
grandstand in Washington saying he wouldn't return to the campaign
trail until there was a deal about the economy in Washington has made
him to be a complete liar and underscores his impetuousness, poor
judgement and recklessness. I don't want this loose torpedo leading
our country for one second.
