the UN has been trying for decades toward the resolution that access
to safe drinking water is a public good, not to be restricted by any
body.  For this reason I do not purchase bottled water. those half
liter bottles which retail for about $1. are the most expensive way to
get a drink. And there is currently little or no regulation to keep it
safe.
