I predict that Sarah Palin will end up being very similar to Richard
Nixon, but without the being elected as VP/pres. part...

Nixon, after his fall, was a political and social pariah. Over the
following decade it became harder and harder to find anyone who would
admit to having voted for him. Now, it's very, very hard to find
someone who will admit they voted for him. To admit one made such a
pathetic voting choice is demeaning to oneself, and most people just
won't go there.

I believe that, over the next decade, we will see fewer and fewer
people admitting to having voted for Bush Jr. To admit one was such a
poor judgment of leadership quality and potential would be very
embarassing. I also believe that, as the decades wear on, it will be
harder and harder to find someone who will admit to voting for Bush
Jr.

Palin will suffer the same fate. We've already seen GOP pundits who
were once rah-rah cheerleaders trying to say "I had concerns from the
very beginning about her." I believe it will become impossible to
find anyone who will admit ever having supported her.

It looks like she is going down in Alaska, too (and not just on her
husband's business partner, either). Her numbers are falling in
Alaska and there are several very active anti-Palin groups that have
formed.

can't wait for Thursday. Anybody up for meeting in a chat room for
online chat during the debate?
