Is this a trick question Gaar? The poverty line is determined by an accumulation of studies that determine the minimum amount of income required to sustain ones self. Government benchmarks tend to be set higher for obvious reasons. However income is the determining factor, not how fat you are. I haven't seen any studies using weight as a criteria for setting the poverty line, have you?
Often mental illness is the cause of poverty. These people often resort to comfort eating as a source of solace, and while maybe obese, they live in squalor.
