We have posted a new blockbuster study, *"From Henry Wallace to William
Ayers - the Communist and 'Progressive' Movements,"* in which former
government investigator Herbert Romerstein analyzes how the old Soviet Union
used "progressives" for its own purposes and how a Communist Party spin-off
organization has become involved in the modern-day movement known as
"Progressives for Obama." It is available on our home page

The Communists used to call them "sympathizers," "fellow travelers,"
"left-wingers," and "useful idiots," Romerstein notes. They called
themselves "Progressives." He explains, "The Soviet controlled and financed
Communist Party USA manipulated these people in carrying out Soviet
influence operations."
This study includes exhibits from Soviet and communist literature. You won't
find this kind of information anywhere else.
"During the 1930s and 40s," his 24-page study says, "the Communists used
such people to influence non-communist Americans in the trade union movement
and the Democratic Party. Two secret Communist Party members became
Democratic members of the United States Congress. They were John Bernard
from Minnesota and Hugh DeLacy from Washington State. A 'friend of the
Party' was Vito Marcantonio, who was elected to Congress first as a
Republican, then as a Democrat, and finally as a candidate of the Communist
Party controlled American Labor Party in New York."
Romerstein, who investigated communist networks for the U.S. Congress,
describes how Henry Wallace's Third Party Movement in 1948, the Progressive
Party, was under total Communist Party control. "The Communists even
reassigned some of their members from Soviet espionage to run the
Progressive Party," he says.
Bringing the controversy up to modern times, Romerstein explains how the
"New Left" of the 1960s and 70s included Communists involved in such groups
as the Students for a Democratic Society and its terrorist offspring, the
Weather Underground, and later "Progressives for Obama."

My column notes that the tabloid National Enquirer has even picked up the
story. You can't always trust the Enquirer. But this story is definitely
true. Indeed, it looks like the tabloid stole it from Andrew Walden's report
for us on the Davis *Sex Rebel* book.

revolution as part of the communist revolution.
