The Sign just fell off the United States; there was no money to repair it.
For those of you that believe one of the two clowns running for President can regenerate the fortunes of the US, think again. When the US emerged as the world’s most powerful nation after WW2, it did it on the back of its overwhelming industrial power, rebuilding Europe and Asia, a never ending avenue in which to expand US capital and influence. America was producing 5 out of every 6 cars built in the world during the 1950’s for example. Things are quite different today. The industrial might of the US has been decimated to the point where the survival of the big 3 is in jeopardy precluding any possibility of the expansion of US capital through the manufacturing sector. In fact, the only section of the US economy that is in a worse position that the manufacturing sector is the financial sector which is imploding at into a black hole.
