“This year, BGI Shenzhen, China’s largest biotech firm, is collecting 2,000 genomes of the smartest people in the world and hoping to raise the intelligence of their society by at least five percent in the future… they are buying up massive amounts of sequencing machinery and genome related industries which will be used to map genomes and potentially screen for more advanced genetic traits in the future.” "The above quote is taken from the article “A Silent Biotechnology Race Lingers On” by Brett Daniel Shehadey appearing in a variety of places within the last few days, link below." *"The basic premise is logical but disturbing: The Chinese are intending to use genetic manipulation to increase the average IQ of their race by at least 5%, (at least the Chinese recognize the importance of IQ), and they have made the first solid first steps towards achieving that goal."* etc... http://www.jeff-goodall.com/?p=13134 *The ultimate horror: DNA manipulation and biological warfare* “This year, BGI Shenzhen, China’s largest biotech firm, is collecting 2,000 genomes of the smartest people in the world and hoping to raise the intelligence of their society by at least five percent in the future… they are buying up massive amounts of sequencing machinery and genome related industries which will be used to map genomes and potentially screen for more advanced genetic traits in the future.” The above quote is taken from the article “A Silent Biotechnology Race Lingers On” by Brett Daniel Shehadey appearing in a variety of places within the last few days, link below. The basic premise is logical but disturbing: The Chinese are intending to use genetic manipulation to increase the average IQ of their race by at least 5%, (at least the Chinese recognize the importance of IQ), and they have made the first solid first steps towards achieving that goal. They also appear to have been “dabbling” in mixing animal genes with human genes, at least as far as rabbits are concerned. One might wonder why the most populous nation in the world would wish to acquire the traditional abilities of rabbits, but who knows… replacing human eyes with cats eyes, for example, would constitute a massive advance in human sensory abilities, and the possibilities for other carefully selected additions to human capabilities from animal sources must be enormous. But should we be doing this? Where will it end, and most importantly of all, what “unintended consequences” might befall us, and perhaps even bring nature’s natural evolutions to a shuddering halt in an orgy of destructive human experimentation? As is suggested in Shehadey’s article, “What if China develops the first superhuman soldier or DNA/RNA targeting weapons? What should the U.S. response be when their people become suddenly smarter or stronger than ours? Or when their bioweapons can literally be put in the food and water supply and threaten the population’s DNA?” “What if” indeed? I have read in the past that the Israeli bio-weapons programme, intended to produce DNA-specific weapons which will kill Arabs without harming Jews, is foundering because of the remarkable DNA similarities between Palestinian Arabs and Sephardic Jews. And that is nothing recent, I first read of that years ago. I shudder to think where the Israelis are at in this hideous endeavour right now, quite apart from the Chinese, or anyone else capable of playing this unnatural game. I have little faith in human nature, and I agree entirely with Shehadey when he asks “Will the U.S. have a choice at that point not to enter into the darker areas that purportedly remains sealed off from Western morality?” And I sometimes wonder, has this all been done before? How many times has the human race risen, acquired far more knowledge than it is capable of handling in a responsible manner, and then destroyed itself, or been annihilated by an outraged Mother Nature? In any event, I can’t see this ending well. Jeff Goodall. Read “A Silent Biotechnology Race Lingers On” here<http://www.albanytribune.com/16122013-silent-biotechnology-race-lingers-oped/> .
