It turns out I am a lucky woman. The highschool boy next door will rake my leaves and shovel my snow come winter. I pay him but his parents will not. Young men need cash. I didn't pay my children either- I just baked more cakes, pies, cookies and Sicilian pizzas plus some toy or electronic gizmo. There were brown paper bags of dandelions or acorns for minimum rewards. Diggings to punish drunk adventures- like old honeysuckle or clothes line cementings.//He remembered when I did this by myself.
