In an interview with *The New Yorker* in November 2013, Obama said regarding al-Qaeda: *"the analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a jayvee team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn't make them Kobe Bryant,"... *(more below the graphic) [image: Liberalism]<http://www.maggiesnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Core_of_Liberalism_Iowa_Dawg_1.jpg>*LIBERALISM IS A PHILOSOPHY OF SNIVELING BRATS .* Liberalism Obama said, resorting to an uncharacteristically flip analogy. "I think there is a distinction between the capacity and reach of a bin Laden and a network that is actively planning major terrorist plots against the homeland versus jihadists who are engaged in various local power struggles and disputes, often sectarian. Obviously, we believe al-Qaeda is STILL planning *"major terrorist plots against the homeland...."* Why else would we have his dastardly NSA? And what about our military, who met al-Qaeda on the battlefields for years. The suffering will never end because of al-Qaeda's 'junior-varsity-style-of-terrorism, vulgar and inhumane to infidels and their own. *They* came to us first, and September 11, 2001 was not their first time to attack us. He schooled the reporter, David Remnick, on how "profoundly conservative" the Iraq city of Falluja is, providing deep insight into Muslim divides and, this was a bit more than a month before the city of Falluja was overtaken by al-Qaeda on January 4, 2014, and their black flag hoisted<http://www.maggiesnotebook.com/2014/01/fallujah-iraq-sunnis-claim-discrimination-from-government-shias-its-a-muslim-thing-fallujah-ramadi-fall/>. The Islamic Republic of Iraq's flag destroyed. Falluja was the place of two brutal battles for Americans in the Iraq war. Blood, treasure and limbs were sacrificed there. And how we think about terrorism has to be defined and specific enough that it doesn't lead us to think that any horrible actions that take place around the world that are motivated in part by an extremist Islamic ideology are a direct threat to us or something that we have to wade into." He was sending a thrill up his own leg with that one. Good lord, he loves to talk about it. He blathered. On and on. Later in this very long article he moves off of Islam to Nixon's corruption (read it all here<http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2014/01/27/140127fa_fact_remnick?currentPage=all>). This is rich: And so, as I got older, when I saw 'All the President's Men,' that was the iconic vision of journalism telling truth to power, and making sure our democracy worked. And I still believe that. And so a lot of the tensions that have existed between my White House and the press are inherent in the institution. The press always wants more, and every White House, including ours, is trying to make sure that the things that we care most about are what's being reported on, and that we're not on any given day chasing after fifteen story lines." And just what "tensions" between the press and his White House is he talking about? The man is in front of a TV camera every day. The media have kept busy covering his rear-end for 5 years and it's taken a lot of devotion and shameful hard work to do it. If you have not read or watched Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) chat stonily...<http://www.maggiesnotebook.com/2014/01/trey-gowdy-reminds-press-of-their-special-liberties-protections-how-their-lack-of-oversight-on-benghazi-has-been-shocking/> URL: http://wp.me/p1cuXL-dRy __._,_.___ __,_._,___ -- -- Thanks for being part of "PoliticalForum" at Google Groups.
