to feed her travel habit?*
On the one hand, it's part of the First Lady's job to take goodwill trips
from time to time. On the other, this is getting ridiculous. Another
friggin' trip when energy prices toward the end of a long, long, cold
winter are through the roof and the American people are trying to afford
the basics. For a week on the other side of the world. A week isn't even
worth the jet lag let alone the millions it costs us to send Air Force
whichever along with the Obamas where ever they go.
Plus, this trip was announced in the middle of a foreign relations crisis
in which the United States and China are on opposite sides of the fence,
and it looks very much like there might be a war with China joining Russia
as our opposition on the horizon.
Unbelievable.
And she's probably going to need a new wardrobe for the occasion.
The extravagance of the Obamas and their entourage is really, really
getting old. I'd be more impressed if she took a tour of the Redneck
Riviera, although they probably don't know where that is.
