Keith, You are absolutely correct! On Friday, April 4, 2014 9:56 PM, Keith In Tampa <[email protected]> wrote: These are in fact dangerous times.
Plain Ol'; TomForNews and others will no doubt salute those individuals and entities that forced former CEO Mr. Brendan Eich's resignation from Mozilla, and chalk it up as another victory of America becoming more secular, and losing it's religious heritage. A signal that the "Religious Myth Believer's" are losing their battle against equality and fairness. The real truth, is that we are seeing something extremely dangerous happening in Western Society. Recently, we saw States like Washington target small business owners who had a conscientious objection to "Same Sex Marriage" be prosecuted and forced out of business, because of their First Amendment beliefs. Today, a man has now been forced to resign from his livelihood because of his beliefs. NEVER did Mr. Eich EVER practice any discrimination. NEVER did Mr. Eich EVER advocate for any prejudicial or discriminatory act. Back in 2008, Mr. Eich donated $1,000.00 in support of the "Proposition 8" ballot measure in California to defeat same sex marriage. Mr. Eichs wrote: “I am committed to ensuring that Mozilla is, and will remain, a place that includes and supports everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, economic status or religion,” No matter, the dating web site, OK-Cupid along with others in the "Non-Militant Gay Community" have decided that Mr. Eich is "An Opponent of Equal Rights For Gay Couples". When a man is forced to resign, not for supporting any type of discrimination or bigotry, but for exercising his unalienable right to free speech; one has to ask: "Where are we going here? What exactly is the agenda"? This is but a mere continuation of the same dogmatic hate and rhetoric that is coming from the secularists like Plain Ol' and others who espouse that they are in fact, tolerant, kinder, gentler, and more enlightened. As someone wrote here, and at one time I thought wise: "Know The Enemy"...... Mozilla CEO Ousted by Thought Police Mozilla co-founder and new CEO Brendan Eich resigned Thursday following an uproar over practicing his First Amendment right by supporting California's Proposition 8 in 2008, defining marriage traditionally as between a man and a woman. "I don't want to talk about my personal beliefs because I kept them out of Mozilla all these 15 years we've been going," Eich said Wednesday. Others weren't so benevolent. Eich's $1,000 donation was made public in 2012 thanks to the LA Times, and proponents of same-sex marriage, including company employees, colluded to demand Eich's ousting lest he "make an unequivocal statement of support for marriage equality," a petition reads. Note that, just like the Chick-fil-A controversy, he's being cast as a bigot for simply believing in the traditional view of marriage; nobody's accusing Eich of practicing discrimination. Yet supporters pride themselves as shepherds of "tolerance" and "inclusiveness"? Interestingly, lefty Andrew Sullivan was one of the few openly homosexual individuals to denounce this ridiculous lynching: "If this is the gay rights movement today ... then count me out," he said. By the way, until 2012, Barack Obama was on Eich's side. Just saying.
