Corker: Obama Foreign Policy 'Creating Danger' for Americans and the World *April 30, 2014 - 10:40 AM * ------------------------------ *By Susan Jones <http://cnsnews.com/source/susan-jones>* (CNSNews.com) - "I rise today out of a genuine concern that the foreign policy that our administration is conducting is creating danger for the United States citizenry and creating danger throughout the world," Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said in remarks on the Senate floor Wednesday morning. Corker pointed first to Syria, where he says the administration's failure to take timely action has increased the terror threat to the United States; and then he talked about Ukraine, where he said the Obama administration has failed to impose truly punitive sanctions on Russia, to stop its destabilization of Europe. Corker said he will introduce legislation at noon today (Wednesday) that strengthens NATO and expedites Obama's own missile defense plan; deters Russian aggression by laying down "clear sanctions," including those that hit the Russia's banking and energy sectors; and strengthens non-NATO allies such as Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine and counters the stream of Russian propaganda flowing into those countries. The legislation is intended to try to "drive an outcome" and prevent "boots on the ground." Corker said he hopes his legislation will "cause the administration to step away from the microphones and the cameras -- to step away from the empty rhetoric...to cause them to step back and say, hey -- wouldn't it be good if we laid out a strategic approach to Europe?
