See taxes aren't theft. They are good. Look at all these things

See taxes aren’t theft. They are good. Look at all this great stuff! And if you don’t pay them, even part of them, we’ll come take your house anyway.

Well Madam if you can’t bother to check the right boxes and answer the right mail and send us a $6.30 check, then you frankly deserve to lose your house. Rules are rules. Our hands are tied.

(From Appalachian Area News)
If Battisti’s appeals fail in future hearings, she will get most of the proceeds from the sale of her home, which fetched only $116,000.
“She’s going to get that money, but she’s going to lose her house. All the notice requirements were met,” wrote Kwidis. “In tax assessment laws, even if I feel sorry for her, I can’t do anything to help her.”
This situation does well to illustrate the broader philosophical property rights issues surrounding taxation – property taxes in particular.
Do individuals really own property in the United States? Or do they simply pay rent fees in the form of coercive taxes to government?
