*Newest American hero?*
No matter what the Fox All Stars say tonight on Special Report, the winner
of the week, no matter how anyone looks at it, is Judicial Watch, the
conservative law firm-watchdog group which regularly files Freedom of
Information Act (FOIA) requests trying to get information on a number of
government scandals that involve some form of cover up.
Judicial Watch filed suit for more information on the Benghazi talking
points in June of last year. They received 41 documents on April 18
including the now famous "smoking gun" email from Ben Rhodes, and published
their report on this past Monday the 28th, setting off a firestorm of
publicity and outrage over the Benghazi scandal including:
- Finding out when the idea of blaming a YouTube video was inserted into
Susan Rice's Sunday morning talk show script
- Waking up the alphabet soup networks on the scandal and getting them
to question the White House on a story that previously only Fox News had
really covered
- Catching Jay Carney in one of the worst flack spinning sessions to
date (agree with Krauthammer on this one. He needs a raise)
- Enraging Congressional leaders enough that their requests - which
pre-dated Judicial Watch's - were ignored and stonewalled, that a special
committee has already been announced and one of the smartest and most
tenacious representatives, Trey Gowdy, will be heading it. (John Boehner
either got REALLY mad, double-crossed or knows it can't be avoided any
longer. My bet is all three.)
For this, Judicial Watch deserves one heck of an attaboy. This is what a
501(c)(3) should be all about - the public good.
