I have a good friend who was raised Jewish his parents kept a Kosher household and he is the most pork-eatinest guy I know!!! I also worked with a very conservative Jew who said that if he was ever going to do something against his religion, he would want to try pizza with pepperoni!!!
My Mom worked for a Rabbi as a secretary, he was very reformed, although he did not follow Kosher practices he also said that most of that stuff is moot in a modern world ... for example the prohibition of mixing meat and dairy had more to do with wooden bowls and contamination ... if you tell people not to do something, they may or may not listen, but if you ell the God decrees that you do something, you are more likely to follow it!!!
