*The plot twists*
This summer the Foggy Bottom Theater of Scandal coughed up a new offering
that did not really originate with the Obama Administration or the man who
is most likely going to be sacrificed to get the scandal to go away. That
would be Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki who walked into a job
heading a part of government that has had systemic problems as a matter of
course for decades, and after five years, not much has improved.
As so many news agencies have reported, there have been countless reports
produced by the General Accounting Office (GAO), the Inspector General of
the Veterans Administration and more independent agencies that more or less
outline what is wrong, at least, if not what to do about it. Under the
Obama Regime, nothing has been done about it on a braod scale.
And now the VA Inspector General confirms that veterans - patients in these
hospitals - are being over medicated and in some cases killed due to too
many drugs and adverse reactions to potentially deadly combinations.
Accidentally, maybe, but good men and women are still dying because of it
when medical doctors should know what drugs react, how much is too much,
etc. That's part of their job.
*Is that any way to treat people who have offered their lives in exchange
for our freedom?*
While it is true that this is a lingering issue - and, yes, it was going on
while Bush was president - Obama's man has done nothing about it other than
order more reports. So, yeah, this one goes on his tab.
The one interesting aspect about it is that the story is being pursued by
CBS News. Yes, it's only one scandal and the O-man's name did not come up
in the report, but since the Regime has done absolutely nothing to address
this problem, it speaks volumes for their attitude towards veterans.
