*The following letter to the editor appeared in the Jonesboro Sun on
Friday, August 8, 2014. It was written by ACT! for America's Jonesboro, AR
chapter leader, Robert Norvell. He explains the implications of apostasy
in Islam and how it is very different from other religions. It can be said
that Islam is like the Hotel California....you can check in, but you can
never leave. (That is unless you are prepared to die) - Burkasrugly*
The adherents of Sharia Law claim that Islam is a religion of peace and
toleration. However, the Koran mandates the death penalty for all those who
leave Islam. Also the Hadiths (the traditions of Mohammed) and the Sira
(the official Islamic approved biography of Mohammed) command the death of
the apostate. "When a person who has reached puberty and is sane
voluntarily (leaves) apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be
killed." (Reliance

After the death of Mohammed whole Arabian tribes, recoiling from the brutal
Sharia code, tried to leave Islam. Abu Bakr, who was the caliph, fought a
series wars against the apostates. These wars called the Apostate Wars
killed tens of thousands of people. In the Bukhari Hadith 9:89:271
<http://sunnah.com/bukhari/93/21>we read of the fate of such a person.
"A certain Jew accepted Islam, but then reverted to his original faith.
Muadh saw the man with Abu Masa and said, 'What has this man done?'
"Abu Masa answered, 'He accepted Islam, but then reverted to Judaism.'
Muadh then said,
'It is the verdict of Allah and Mohammed that he be put to death!'
Islam allows you to join, but you can never leave. Islam is the only
religion in the world that demands the killing of people who leave it.
Every person whether Jew, Christian, Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist has a basic
right to choose their own religious persuasion. Fear is a very poor tool
for keeping people loyal to their faith.
The civilized world must demand a halt to this barbaric practice of
brutally murdering people who leave Islam. Islamic fanatics who are so
insecure in their own faith must lash out and destroy people who are
critical of Islam. Remember if you accuse militant Islam of being violent,
they will kill you to prove they are not.
A faith that is forced, is not faith, it is tyranny.
