Islamic state: 5 Arab countries unite to fight against the

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan have agreed
on Sunday of the need to fight against the jihadists of the Islamic State
(EI).
After a ministerial meeting to be held Sunday, August 24 in Jeddah, Saudi
Arabia, five Arab countries - Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi
Arabia and Jordan - said in a statement it had discussed "the progress
of the terrorist and extremist ideology, and disorders experienced by some
Arab countries," referring to the advanced jihadists of the Islamic State
(EI) in Iraq and Syria. They also discussed " the severe impact "on" states
in the region and the threat that [these jihadists] pose to global security
and peace. " The five Arab countries have focused particularly on "the
developments of the situation in Syria" and concluded that "a convergence
of views on the issues raised and the need to act seriously (...) to
protect the safety and stability of Arab States, "the statement said.

Iraq "needs help"
Indeed, the day of the meeting, Syria sank deeper into chaos. The IU took
the Tabqa of the last bastion of the regime of Bashar al-Assad in the
northern province of Raqqa military airport, according to the Syrian
Observatory of Human Rights (OSDH) and Syrian television. The OSDH reported
541 dead after clashes between the jihadists and the regular army. Raqqa
province becomes the first in the country to come under the control of
jihadists.
In Iraq too, the help of the international community is pressing. The EI
has launched a new assault to seize the main refinery in the country, Baiji
(200 km north of Baghdad). Iraq "needs help and support from everyone
(...) of all forces against terrorism," said the head of the Iraqi Foreign
Hoshyar Zebari, at a conference Press Sunday. submitted for Others Results

The results of the meeting should be submitted to the other members of the
Arab League, consisting of 22 countries in total.
The meeting was held in camera. It gathered around the Saudi Foreign
Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal, his counterparts in Egypt, the UAE and
Qatar and an adviser to Jordan, representing "the Arab members of
the International Contact on Syria. "
Possible American strikes
For their part, the United States are already conducting air raids in
northern Iraq to stop the spread of jihadist IE and could, according to the
press, consider widening their strikes in Syria. These items were discussed
after the recent execution of American journalist James Foley by EI ,
buried Sunday.
