In response to a question from the chairman of the House Ways and Means
Committee on Wednesday, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said the IRS follows
the law “wherever we can.” Good to know.
The exchange began when Kevin Brady (R-TX) asked Koskinen: “Will you be
following the law,” in collecting money for healthcare subsidies?
Koskinen tried to duck the question, but Brady persisted

Koskinen finally responded:
“Yes, wherever we can, we follow the law.”
A befuddled Brady laughed in disbelief as he admonished the commissioner:
“I encourage you to follow the law in all instances.”
So if you or I were to tell the IRS "Wherever I can, I'll pay my taxes,"
how would that all work out, right? Unbelievable. Or not.
