House Republican Paul Ryan, speaking recently on Fox & Friends about the new Republican budget:
Lie no. 1: “We just don’t think that borrowing, taxing, spending, and regulating is the path to prosperity.” Of course you do. I have read your budgets for the past few years. And of course the Republicans do. What do you think they did when they had absolute control of the government when Bush was the president?
Lie no. 2: “The House Republicans are well on their way to passing, for the fifth year in a row, a balanced budget.” Liar, liar, pants on fire. Only a Republican would propose a budget that is only good for only one year, make up numbers for years 2-10, have the budget balance on paper in the tenth year, and claim that he was proposing a balanced budget.
