*FINALLY: The Mexican Cartels’ Worst Nightmare Just Arrived at the Texas
Border*

After a Customs and Border Protection chopper was forced down by gunfire
from the Mexican
<http://conservativetribune.com/iraqi-caught-crossing-border/> side of the
border earlier this month, the CBP is finally getting the machinery they
need to do the job right — namely, heavily-armed Blackhawk helicopters.

The June 5 incident, which happened just north of the border in Laredo,
Texas, occurred in the middle of a drug bust.

“U.S. Border Patrol agents were attempting to intercept a drug load,” an
unnamed Border Patrol officer told Breitbart
<http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2015/06/05/breaking-us-cbp-chopper-down-at-texas-border-fired-on-from-mexico/>
.

“A law enforcement chopper
<http://conservativetribune.com/gop-congressmen-us-chopper-downed-mexican-gunfire/>
was assisting Border Patrol agents. The chopper received gunfire from the
Mexican side of the border. The chopper had to do an emergency landing due
to the gunfire.”

Now, the Laredo CBP has the heavily-armored Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk, a
twin-engined combat helicopter specifically designed for dangerous missions
such as border patrol.

Hector Garza, president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2455,
told reporters he was ecstatic over the news.

“We are very grateful to finally have armored helicopters,” Garza told
Breitbart

.

“Our lives are at great risk and political forces often attempt to portray
the border areas as safe and okay. Clearly they are not safe and this is a
moment where the actions of CBP management have placed the safety of agents
above the feelings of the Mexican government
<http://conservativetribune.com/mexico-busted-illegal-invasion/>.”

Mexico, however, was less than pleased with the decision.

In spite of the fact that Mexico is known to patrol its side of the border
with the selfsame Blackhawk helicopter, their foreign relations secretariat
issued a statement that Texas patrolling the border with Blackhawk
helicopters would hurt U.S.-Mexico relations.

You know, unlike how Mexican drug cartels
<http://conservativetribune.com/isis-working-with-cartels/> shooting at
American helicopters would hurt U.S.-Mexico relations.

According to the Laredo Morning Times
<http://www.lmtonline.com/front-news/article_810f87f4-116e-11e5-b5c4-0b7c43d7f16b.html>,
a statement from the Mexican government also read that it “categorically
rejects any attempt to see the border as a security threat.” Right. I
wonder how many cartel leaders read that and died laughing.

Now that the Border Patrol has started prioritizing border safety over
appeasing the Mexican government, let’s hope that it’ll continue and we can
see even more border security initiatives to stop the deadly cycle of drug
violence that has plagued the U.S.-Mexico border.
