Halloween in just around the corner, and children throughout the United States are anxiously awaiting to go trick-or-treating and show off their costumes. Unfortunately for students in Milford, Connecticut, that is no longer an option for that. According to reports, the public school system in Milford, CN has just decided to ban Halloween-related events from schools. Why? They don’t want to offend children with different religious backgrounds. While the school cites only “numerous incidents of children being excluded from activities due to religion, cultural beliefs, etc.”, we can draw one pretty factual conclusion: this probably has something to do with Islam banning Muslim children from dressing up with costumes. Not surprisingly, the decision has been met with outrage by many students and parents. “I don’t think we’re excluding anybody,” Victoria Johannsen, one local parent, told reporters. “I think they’re excluding themselves.” What do you think?
