That may well be true, however, and here is the irony, what you point out about Mohammed is exactly what the old testament tells you to do, not just in Leviticus, but several other parts of the bible, the Israelites were urged to murder, pillage rape and commit a myriad other outrages, which makes it so inexplicable why the Jews and Moslems have been at each others' throats for millennia, since basically they believe in exactly the same things, including the total annihilation of people of a different religion.
As for us Christians, as Brian correctly points out, the most inveterate Christians are the ones that so skilfully pick and choose which of Christ's teaching they will follow, most are especially good at forgetting the 8th and 9th commandments.
