*Some thoughts from Bill Kerrell . I’m sure many of us can identify with
them. I was born in 1929 and grew up when we didn’t lock doors *

*and fed folks who would knock on the door for food. Also drank raw milk
from our own cow, ate eggs and chickens we killed by wringing their necks.*

*Now that’s jail time. Those skills of butchering and cleaning game might
come in handy by the time Iran gets finished with us. *

*Subject:* When EVERYBODY GOT A .22 AND HUNTED FOR FOOD.

I did indeed have my first 22 rifle when I was 9 years old. I did bring
home cotton tail rabbits
and other wild game for dinner. After I cleaned them I gave them to my
Mother for dinner on many occasions.
In those days virtually everyone had a gun. No one had a pick-up without a
'gun rack' in the rear window.
with a shot gun or rifle displayed. Oh by the way, in those days no one
ever thought it was
necessary to lock the doors of a car or NOT leave the keys in the ignition,
so they always knew
where they were and they didn't lose them. Thinking about keys and
security, I am not sure if my Mother and Dad
even had keys to our house, I don't remember the doors ever being locked
??? Even when we left for a few days to visit friends or relatives. Even
though our property backed up to the Union Pacific railroad tracks. I
mention this because in those days, men 'rode the rails' (those were the
'homeless' of that period). They were then referred to as 'bums'. They
would on many occasions stop by and ask for food or water. My Mom would
always fix them sandwich or something we had left over from a meal of
ours. Many times they would offer to work on something around the house or
yard. Never was there any fear from any of them, or fear that they would
violate any thing of ours if they found no one home. They had honor and
pride, even in their circumstances. Yes it was a different world then....
one that it is sad that our liberal and complaining young people will never
know...People were proud and God was still here, maybe everyone didn't
attend a church, but the principals of the ten commandments were followed.
I went off to war when I was 19 proud to serve a country that I loved,
following the tradition set by my two brothers who had both fought in WWII,
in Europe and the Pacific. Yes it was a different self reliant, proud,
responsible and beautiful world then .......Now I look with my other senior
friends and feel only great sadness
for what we feel is coming .... herds of blinded sheep staring and nodding
.... as they are led off to socialist slavery.
Our time will be over soon.... but our happy thoughts.... We knew and lived
and remember the 'good' times ......
