The boozer, which has had the name since 1840, is based in Llanfihangel Talyllyn, in Brecon, Wales. And when the social media ban was put in place, manager Lee Garrett was stunned. Speaking to the Independent, he said: "This is a typical country pub. "I know it’s a rubbish name but it’s been called that since 1840. It’s a black cockerel, you know. There are a lot of pubs with the same name. Facebook[image: The Blackcock Inn in Llanfihangel Talyllyn] The Blackcock Inn: The gaffer noticed the page had been banned after posting its Christmas menus "Up the road there’s a place called the Three Cocks – there’s a lot of cock-based names in this area for some reason. I found it hilarious when I first moved here but that’s just the kind of place it is." The manager, 33, has ran the pub for the last 12 years with his wife. He added: "In our village there’s only about 200 people, we’re seven miles from the nearest town. Not many people come along way out here [...] it was a lifeline to the local community." The Blackcock Inn's Facebook page posted the Christmas <http://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/christmas> menus to its 500 friends before being banned. AFP[image: Facebook] No explanation: Facebook has not reached out to the landlord to discuss the history behind the pub's name Mr Garrett was logging on in November when he realised the page had been suspended. He also feels disappointed that the social networking giant did not give him an opportunity to explain the history behind the name. Facebook is yet to comment.
