Below is a letter I sent about the mailer that went to millions of
California voter's home. Forget to mention to the Sect. his pandering to the
following groups by publishing this document in their language. To vote you
must
be a citizen and to become a naturalized citizen have command of basic
English......the cost includes translation from English into the following
languages: Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Tagalog, Thai,
and Vietnamese. Read and weep or do some thing about it.......

Our household received our copy of your "Official Voter Information
Guide". Mr. Secretary Padilla are you kidding me!!! Got a couple of questions
for
you about this publication from your office. What did it cost the
taxpayers to pay for this book that every family registered to vote in
California
received.....millions of copies. Please include, writing staff costs and
reviews, printing and mailing to millions of voters in California? BTY, how
many trees do you estimate died to supply the paper of this 223 page book to
each and every voter's residence in California? ......and you folks dare to
call yourselves environmentalists......just think about this waste!!!
Mr. Sect. I have a Master's Degree and I doubt that I could read this
whole thing before election day next month! Now, don't get me wrong the first
18 pages that included a "Quick Reference Guide" was most helpful in
deciding how I would vote on the various Propositions on the ballot this
election.
A simple notation at the end of each of the presentation that if the voter
wanted more detailed info that you are providing in the additional 205
pages of your publication can be obtained by contacting you office. Mr. Sect.
I doubt you would have more then a few requests for this information and
think of the savings to the taxpayers and the life of trees you and your
office would be providing. Mr. Padilla, do Democrats ever think of the costs
involved in a project like this and the benefit to the community. Mr. Sect.
so many millions of copies of your document are headed for the trash
can......have you folks lost all common sense once you get to Sacramento or
Washington, DC? Humbly speaking, a twenty page document is about all we need.
