Memo I mailed to New York Life regarding a mailing I received from them touting an AARP Life Insurance program.
SUBJECT: AARP Life Insurance Program This is to advise New York Life that I and many other Senior Citizens will never ever buy any product ever again recommended by AARP. There are several reasons for this decision but let me remind you of some facts and decisions that went down with the introduction of Obama Care (OC). AARP got in the back room with the Democrats and sold millions of seniors who were on a non AARP program, Senior Advantage (SA) down the river as Obama bragged about defunding that program under his program and moving the savings of millions of dollars over to his program. One of the first big lies of Obama about the costs of his program. You see all those seniors were eligible for a Senior program and defunding saved no money as those receiving benefits would continue to be eligible for those benefits.....it was a mere shifting of costs.... not one dime saved that went towards funding Obama Care (OC).But Obama and the Democrats sold that BS to the American people and they bought it..... But it did rid AARP of competition in the market place and their more expensive programs with fewer benefits the SA consumers were left with no place to go. Smart business move for AARP but bad news for the senior consumers. The word got out about AARP and their back room deals and many of us didn't like what they had done and simply tore up our membership cards and sent them back to AARP. Now if those shenanigans weren't bad enough AARP added fuel to the fire by sending out more lies about their activities. They told us Senior Advantage was "over paying" seniors in their program. The Administration went along with this and never set the record straight. AARP said we were "over paid" because SA gave us more then the AARP contractors. If we were "over paid" as AARP claims then the government would come after us to recoup those over payments and no one has ever been asked to reimburse the government for AARP's claims of over payments. What happened was SA contract negotiators got more bang for their buck then did the AARP contract negioators got for their clients.....so AARP claimed the "over payment" story when they should be looking at the failure of their own staff to negioate a consumer friendly contract with the Feds. Drain the swamp of these people acting in collusion with one another to benefit their own self interest. The American people woke up and threw them all out all over the country this past election day. My report to you was just one little piece of why the Democrats went down so badly. Please consider your relationship with AARP as they are some bad eggs who honestly believe they are helping senior citizens. They were at one time a great organization....but now are swamp feeders.
