I semi-followed the Dutch election and the events leading up to it. The Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte caught a proverbial "Hail Mary" pass from Erdoğan when Erdoğan and the Turkish Ambassador were attempting to campaign in the Netherlands (as well as in most European Nation-States with the Turkish Emigre's); for Erdoğan's proposed Turkish Constitutional Amendments ceding much more power to his office and eliminating the Turkish Prime Minister position.
Rutte for the first time stood up to the Turks and Erdoğan; meanwhile Geert Wilders was giving (in the eyes of the much more sissified Dutch Europeans) more "Cowboy/American-Styled/John Wayne-esque" speeches clamoring for the removal of all Turks, Muslims and Non-Dutch from the Nation. Timing is everything.....
